Following is the story of My Girl, Clementine. Clementine happens to be the older sister of My Girl, Clancey Jayne. They have the same mother. Not all of Clemee’s photo shoots are loaded, but the ones that have been loaded can be found below this text.

My Chloe Anne, my heart dog, was aging. I thought it was time to get another Cocker. I knew when Chloe was no longer with me that I would be devastated. I couldn’t bear the thought of coming home to house without a dog. I needed to start a puppy, and I wanted to find a chocolate one. I had already chosen the name of Clementine.

Like a prayer answered, I walked out of the vet’s office one day, and there was a young mother and her daughter leading quite a nice chocolate Cocker. They were walking toward me. I literally fell to my knees to entice the Cocker to come to me. That’s the day I met Laura, her daughter, and the dog who would be Clementine’s grandmother.

During our short conversation, Laura told me she bred Cockers and that she had a website. I clicked on her website when I got home that day and looked at her dogs. She specialized in blacks and chocolates. Her dogs were really nice and had champion dominant pedigrees. I contacted Laura, and I asked her to put me on her waiting list for a chocolate puppy. I was so excited!

Not too long after, a litter was whelped on December 19, 2004. When the puppies were about 4-weeks-old, Chloe and I would go visit so she and the puppy could get acquainted. When Clementine was old enough, I brought her home to Chloe. Chloe didn’t know what to think at first, as Clementine could be quite exuberant. Clemee would run and jump over, under, around and through Chloe and even body slam her. As Clementine matured she settled down, and My Girls became great friends.

When we moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2005, My Girls were a hit. Clementine attracted attention wherever we went because of her chocolate coloring and tan point markings. She loved everyone, people and dogs alike, and everyone loved her.

We moved back to Illinois in 2006, and Clementine kept Chloe young until 2008. Clementine would lie beside Chloe, after Chloe had lost her sight and health. Clemee didn’t want Chloe to feel alone, and she didn’t like to leave Chloe’s side. She literally watched over Chloe.

I lost My Chloe Anne at the age of 15-years on July 20, 2008. She lacked 39-days of celebrating her 16th birthday. I was devastated, and Clemee hurt too. Clementine and I helped each other through what was a very, very sad and difficult time. I was blessed to have her by my side to support me.

Clementine is my oldest girl, and she has earned the perks of a dog with seniority. Clemee watches the house. She has helped me raise the puppies I’ve brought home. She teaches them what proper behavior is, and she grooms them like a mother. The puppies learn well from Clemee, who sets a very good example.

Clementine is sweeter than her chocolate color implies. I gave her the AKC registered name of Steppin’ Outa Brown Sugar because she looks and acts as if she did. Why Clemee is so sweet, that’s why I call her Candy Girl sometimes. Because of her wonderful personality, because of how she nurtures the other girls, and because she gives her love so sweetly, I am proud to call Clementine, My Girl.
