Following is the story of My Girl, Clancey Jayne. Clancey happens to be the younger sister of My Girl, Clementine. They have the same mother. Her photo shoots can be found below this text.

I had graduated from grooming school, and I was working at a vet clinic in Glendale, Arizona grooming dogs. A friend, whom I had attended grooming school with, and I decided to fly to the big grooming show in Denver, Colorado. Everything was very exciting at the show, and I attended a grooming organization seminar. After the seminar, I thought joining the organization and studying to become certified as a Master groomer was the thing to do.

During this show, I was asked to take care of a vendor’s two black and white parti Cockers for a while. I had always thought partis were flashy. After that, all I wanted was a black and white parti Cocker.

When my husband and I had free time, we would get the Harley and ride out of Phoenix. We loved going up into the cooler, green areas to get a break from the dust and heat of the city. While on these rides I kept seeing signs that read, “Vote for Clancey Jayne”. I yelled at my husband from the back of the motorcycle over the engine as I pointed to a sign, “That would be a neat name for a Cocker!”

The ideas all came together when I thought getting a parti Cocker for a certification dog would be just what I needed. I asked my friend Laura if she would be having any parti Cocker litters in the future. She happened to have just produced a litter with some black and white partis with tan points. The litter was whelped on September 17, 2006.

Laura sent me pictures of two-puppies. I carried the pictures with me everywhere until I finally picked the puppy I thought was best for me. I would be able to adopt my puppy after we returned home to Illinois in a few weeks. I couldn’t wait to get home to Clancey Jayne! You can see I added an “E” before the “Y” in Clancey. I thought it made her name more feminine.

Clancey has gorgeous pigmentation. I especially love her ticks or freckles on her muzzle. Her subdued tan points accent her coloring. I have always called her Fancy Clancey, and that’s how I came up with her AKC registered name of What’s Your Fancy Clancey.

Clancey tries to be the alpha dog of the pack, but not while I’m around. It’s unfortunate, but once in a great while Clancey can be aggressive toward other dogs. She is wonderful around people. I have always said that Clancey probably loves me more than all of my other girls. I believe she would do anything for me. Fancy Clancey is the most intelligent dog I think I have ever owned. She understands every word I say. She knows what I want intuitively. She is fast, and loves to play fetch. She may have been a great agility dog.

Clancey didn’t work out as my Sporting certification dog because of her tendencies. She also developed a thyroid condition that has had some effect on her coat. Clancey is really a great dog, and I don’t mean to belittle her strong points. Sometimes I get aggravated with her when she gets nasty with one of my other girls, but I wouldn’t give her up for the world. Once I bring a dog home, they are a member of my family forever. Dogs are not disposable. You have to be aware, work with them, and use correction and praise. Clancey Jayne loves me more than she loves herself, and that truly makes her My Girl.

Enjoy Clancey’s photo shoots. I think you’ll like My Fancy Girl.
